Plainfield AC Tune-Ups From a Local Plumber

Leto Plumbing & Heating, Inc. handles AC maintenance in Plainfield, from condenser coil cleaning to ductwork inspections, for homes and businesses throughout Will County. Skip a maintenance visit and your AC gets less efficient and collects dust, bacteria, and fungi that circulate through your home all summer. We've done this work for 24 years, with a 4.8-star rating across 53 Google reviews. Call (815) 609-3150 before the heat hits.

Will County's clay-heavy soil heaves through freeze-thaw cycles, which stresses the pads outdoor AC equipment sits on. Older systems collect grime in the ductwork; newer high-efficiency units need calibration to hit their ratings. See our air conditioning services for everything we cover.

WHAT WE COVER

Our AC Maintenance Plan for Plainfield Homes

Every tune-up follows the same checklist. The technician is a background-checked Leto employee, never a subcontractor.

Condenser Coil Cleaning

A thorough cleaning of the condenser coils. This improves efficiency (which directly affects energy costs) and helps to reduce system wear and tear.

Coolant Level Evaluation

A thorough evaluation of coolant levels to ensure optimal operating performance.

Moving Parts Lubrication

Lubrication of all moving parts to reduce friction and wear, which can raise your energy bills.

Thermostat Calibration

A thorough calibration of your thermostat to ensure proper operation.

A thorough examination of the ductwork to identify any potential energy loss.
Tightening and inspecting all electrical connections to ensure that the system operates safely.
An assessment of the performance of the blower motor and the condition of the blower belt.

Why Annual Maintenance Matters in Plainfield

Your AC needs to be ready before the first 90-degree day, and a yearly tune-up costs less than an emergency repair at 9pm on a Friday. Most manufacturer warranties also require documented annual service, so a skipped year can leave you paying for the next compressor. We'll tell you if your warranty has that clause. Check our cooling coupons for active offers. Regular maintenance means:

Reduced frequency of system breakdowns or malfunctions
Lower utility bills
Longer system lifespan
Better indoor air quality

Frequently asked questions

How often should Plainfield homeowners schedule AC maintenance?

Once a year, in spring before the first real heat wave hits Will County. An annual visit keeps manufacturer warranties valid, catches refrigerant loss before it becomes a compressor problem, and keeps the system efficient through humid Chicagoland summers, which speed coil contamination and blower belt wear.

My Plainfield home has an older AC system. Is maintenance still worth it, or should I replace it?

It depends on age and condition. Systems past 15 years with recurring compressor issues are usually better replaced, and we'll say so. Many older units still have years left after the cleaning and calibration they've been missing. A maintenance visit shows us which you have.

Can I do AC maintenance myself in Plainfield, or do I need a professional?

Changing the air filter is a fair DIY task. Refrigerant handling, electrical inspection, blower assessment, and coil cleaning need EPA certification or specialized tools. Refrigerant work is federally regulated, and doing it yourself risks a fine and a voided warranty.

Does Leto Plumbing & Heating also handle heating system maintenance in Plainfield?

Yes. We're a full plumbing and HVAC operation. You can schedule heating system maintenance or furnace installation through the same number, and we'll know your equipment's full history when something goes wrong.
